Theory Classes
Studying music theory is understanding how music works. At Wonder Music School, we believe music theory is an essential component of a well-rounded music education. Students do not have to take the RCM exam, but basic theory knowledge is essential for all budding musicians. Our course has been updated to match the new (recently released) RCM curriculum and our teachers have updated their methods and materials to make sure our students achieve their highest potential. Taking this course helps students understand more about the music they are playing as well as music more generally.
The RCM theory class is based on the Royal Conservatory syllabus, and is designed to meet the needs of the students who are preparing for the Royal Conservatory of Music theory exam. Class time includes written exercises, some group work and, eventually, practice exams. Homework may also be assigned weekly. RCM Theory and History (all levels) are also taught privately, semi-privately and in small groups by our teachers. Class sizes are kept small to meet the needs of our students.
